habitat is where a living thing lives
is the scientific analysis and study of interactions among organisms and their environment. It is an interdisciplinary field that includes biology and Earth science.
populations and communities
populations are abiotic factors and biotic factors inside an ecosystem that grows and grows overtime.
communities are the the families of the wildlife like tigers with tigers and wolfs with wolfs.
a limiting factor is the actor that stops the population from growing
organisms require food at all times.
weather is a big thing because it depends on the climate that can limit the population.
Birth-rate-the number of births per 1,000 individual for a given period of time.
death rate- the number of deaths per 1,000 individual for a given time period.
Birth rate > death rate=population increase.
Death rate > birth rate=population decrease.
Immigration-moving into a population.
emigration-leaving a population
examples:food is scarce, animal got lost or separated
population density-The number of individuals in an area of specific size.
Limiting factor-An environmental factor that causes a population to stop growing.
like: weather conditions, space in the area, food, water, climate.
Carrying capacity-the largest population that an area can support.
ecology-study of living things,is the scientific analysis and the study of interactions among organisms among their organisms.
Habitat- are the groups of animals that live in an Eco-system.

questions
|
Essential question:
|
| 1. how can you find an eco- c system. 2.define habitat 3.what are abiotic and b biotic factors? |
Notes:
What does an organism get from it’s environment.
A-An organism get’s food, water, shelter, and other things it needs to live, grow, and reproduce from it’s environment.
#organism=any living thing#
What are the 2 parts of an organism’s habitat?
#sunlight,soil,temperature,oxygen,water,and rocks.#
How is an Eco-system organized
a.organisms-individuals species
b. populations-all members of one species
c.communities-different populations that live in the same area.
d.eco-systems-a community of organisms that live in the same area.
Summary: What we talked about in class is about ecology and that every living thing is an organism the 2 parts of an organisms habitat are called an biotic factor which are the living things and the abiotic factors which are the non-living things in an organisms habitat. We also talked about organisms, and how an Eco-system is organized.
density-independent factor: a limiting factor when the populations density does not influence whether or not the factor stops the populations growth-http://study.com/academy/lesson/density-independent-factors-examples-definition-quiz.html
density-dependent factor: a factor that stops the populations growth and is influenced by the population density. Link-http://study.com/academy/lesson/density-dependent-factors-examples-definition-quiz.html
emigration:leaving a population
immigration: going into a population
birth rate: the number of births per 1,000 individuals
death rate: the number of deaths per 1,000 individuals
exponential population growth: rapid growth rate
logistic population growth: shows what the population is doing like increasing, decreasing, and reaching carrying capacity
carrying capacity: when a population can’t hold anymore and is starting to decrease. |
